Web Notes: More SEO

I personally hate registration to view articles. If I run across it I usually navigate away. Otherwise, I will put in phony information.

In fact I just clicked a Telegraph article and it asked for information, so I hit the back botton.

I am willing to fill in short requests for zip code and birthdate, but anything more I'll give up.

We tend to view reader registration as a necessary evil. This Web site is free, so reader registration is a concession to the reality of the business needs. Every paper approaches this problem differently, and we are almost constantly reevaluating our registration process. Thanks for your comments.
