Web Notes: Where in Merrimack?

  • webcurtpgh · 1 year ago
Definitely not Merrimack. The only place the river approaches the main highway where there are downtown buildings the water crosses under the highway, which it isn't doing here. Se the terrain version on a google map. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=merrimack,+nh&ie=...

My thinking is that this isn't Merrimack either. For one thing the church is on the wrong side of DW, too close to the river (up near exit 12), and the buildings are too close together. My fiance and I kind of think its some other small NE town.

This is NOT Merrimack. Too much clapboard and a lot denser than Merrimack. This is a "generic" New England town, could be Vermont(!). Nice gaff since A-B may have been one of the contributors along with Norden Systems for a professional publicity video that was done in the mid-80's. If they had looked around they may have found the video and had real footage. Where's Waldo?

It isn't Merrimack and I can't seem to locate it anywhere else. The light angle suggests it is shot looking North which is another clue it isn't Merrimack. I hope someone figures it out as I am quite curious now.

Where in Merrimack could they shoot a video showing Merrimack as a "New England Town"? We passed that title a long time ago.

I have lived in Merrimack for close to 40 years. This is NOT from Merrimack. Shame on them.....

This upset me too. There is no way this is Merrimack..
    Shame on them is right.

I grew up in Merrimack and Still Drink Bud to this day because of it. (I am often made fun of by the local liberals of Seattle for that fact... but I digress).

I too was watching the game via satellite, and heard the name Merrimack , NH. Thanks to Tivo, I backed it up and looked at the picture shown here.

There are some wonderfull pictures that could have been taken of Merrimack for this add, but if they were going for an overhead image, it may have looked like a Shaw's add. (Merrimack has 3)

According to Anheuser-Busch, they believe the footage was stock video taken in or near Concord, NH. I have not been able to find that Church near Concord - but let me know if you recognize it.

It very much looks like a section of rt 4 in NH. Some where between Boscawen and Andover. Or in that general area. maybe even closer to Enfield than Boscawen.

The town in the commercial is Hillsborough NH a quaint little New England town. I live in Hillsborough and even though it is nice to see an ariel view of the town I live in, shame on Budweiser for not using photo's of Merrimack. I lived in Merrimack for 30 years before moving to Hillsborough. Merrimack is quite proud of their brewery and perhaps Budweiser should have considered that before they used another town to promote the new european but still AMERICAN beer.
